Graffiti Sounds Dj & Photobooth
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Is the setup time included in your price?
You never have to pay for set up or take down time. We arrive at least an hour prior to your scheduled start time and will set up long before your first guest arrives. But it's on our own time. The same applies for take down time after your event.
What is your dress attire?
We dress appropriate for all events. We wear
semi-formal attire (jacket, tie, dress shoes and slacks). If you have a
theme just let us know. We do not wear tuxedos (unless requested) this is
YOUR day not the DJ's. Your wedding party should stand out from all the
guest that includes the DJ.
Is a gratuity expected in addition to the performance fee?
Absolutely not! Instead, we put a tip jar at every table at your wedding reception.
Just kidding! The biggest tip you can offer is to recommend us to your
friends.
If it is outdoors, do I need a tent?
Yes! Electronic equipment can be
easily damaged! Just the slightest drizzle of rain, the hot rays of the
sun, tree dander, or the unlucky event a bird flies over can take out a
piece of equipment in a second. Alternatively, I can be under an awning,
in a Gazebo, or anywhere else that supplies shelter. Your venue or caterer
should be able to provide this for you. Exceptions may apply for outdoor
ceremonies only.
Are you low-key, moderate, or high energy DJ?
Graffiti Sounds is NOT the DJ that talks too much, says something inappropriate, has a tip jar, plays cheesy songs all night, and dresses like we are at a themed event. We’ve heard all of the horror stories and are here to say “we are not those guys.”
What happens if you are sick? Is there a backup DJ?
First, I have never missed a gig . Second, even if I were not feeling well, I'd be there, and you'd never know. After all, it's like show business- the show must go on. Third, in the extremely unlikely case that something happened which
absolutely prevented me from making a gig, I would find you a replacement
DJ at no additional cost to you. I have contacts formed with other DJ companies within the Canadian Professional Disc Jockey Association and the CDJA.
Will you purchase music requests that are not already available?
Absolutely, music is our business, and with over 100,000 song titles
currently available the chances are that we already have your request.
But in the unlikely event we would not, we will be more than happy to try
and locate it without any additional charge. We don't guarantee that all
songs can be found, but we'll do our best. The only thing we require is
that you submit any requests at least 2 weeks prior to your scheduled
date.
Are you insured? Can you supply me with proof of liability?
Many responsible business owners carry liability insurance to protect their
businesses and the consumer. Many locations are beginning to require proof
of liability. Ask for proof of liability insurance. Disc Jockey's receive
a Certificate of Liability which can be used as proof.
Can we visit you at a performance?
Unfortunately the answer to this question is "No." We're sure that you wouldn't appreciate the DJ inviting prospective clients to your wedding to see him in action. A professional DJ should be willing to take a stand for his clients' privacy and not
offer this as a possibility.
Do we need to provide dinner for the DJ?
From the time the DJ arrives to the time they leave is usually somewhere between 8 and 10 hours, in this time they don't usually get to leave, so dinner is appreciated. But not mandatory.
Do they have a clear understanding of your vision?
Beware of the DJ that only talks about themselves and does not ask you questions! Every couple has an individual vision of what they are looking for at their event. If your DJ does not ask you questions, chances are your wedding will end up being the same as the last ten they have done. Again, be clear and firm
about what your expectations are and ask how they can deliver the service
to match.
Will I be able to contact you after I have booked to go over any
questions, last minute details, etc?
Absolutely! If you call us we will most likely be in our office and can
talk with you at that time.
However, if we are out, please leave a message and we will get back to you
promptly. We promptly respond to all e-mail messages. We can also arrange
appointments for in-person consultations.
Do you use Professional Equipment?
Ask whether you're prospective Disc Jockey works with professional audio equipment. If you are not sure, ask for their equipment list and check with a local music dealer or the C.P.D.J.A. to verify they are using professional-grade sound gear. Remember that professional gear does not guarantee an entertainer's talent or service level, but is simply a tool for building an exceptional event.
Do You Have References?
Yes! If you would like a list of recent references, please give us a call and we will gladly mail, fax or e-mail a list to you.
